Where is Professor Petersen?
You were initially drawn you to the Exposition to see the mysterious statue of a “monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind.”
The statue is on display in the Manufactories and Liberal Arts Building (Mahogany 4), where you were scheduled to meet with Professor Petersen after her lecture on the statue, and other artifacts found in her recent Polynesian expedition, but the Professor did not arrive at the session.
After asking around, you discover that no-one has seen her in the last 24 hours. Your enquiries also reveal that she is staying in Room 1225 of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Use the password petersen to unlock whatever clues you find at Room 1225.
How to Play the Game?
If you choose to investigate the disappearance of Professor Petersen, the first step will be to find Room 1225 and locate the clues on that door. Like any investigation, these clues will lead you to even more clues as you delve deeper into the mystery.
Most of the clues are presented on Clue Cards that you can save to your phone. We recommend creating an album or folder in which to keep all your clues organized (there will be a lot of them).
Depending on how far down this rabbit hole you wish to immerse yourself, you may need to create a Steam & Sorcery character sheet for your detective in order to unlock hidden clues and take on various challenges. When you are ready to take your investigation to this level, either visit the Dungeons & Dad Jokes table in the Midway Plaisance (Hotel Atrium Lobby), or find someone wandering around the hotel who is wearing a red lanyard with a red badge that reads Red NPC (non player character); these people will be able to help you get started.
