Our BIG announcement this week is that the legendary Aurelio Voltaire (pictured above) will be joining us this September to headline our Entertainment line up. Aurelio Voltaire is often described as a modern day renaissance man. He is a singer/ performer, creator of comic books, animation and toys, and we are thrilled to have him at the 2019 Exposition. We also announced that Chicago theatre troupe Terra Mysterium (pictured left) will be performing an original play at the Exposition, and will be running an interactive game. Click HERE to read more.
We are currently building the schedule for the 2019 Chicago Steampunk Exposition, so if you are an expert on things Victorian or Steampunk and would like to present, please contact us soon by filling out our Presenter Application; please click HERE to learn more. This month we also begin to coordinate our Volunteers to help run the Exposition; a convention is only as strong as its team of volunteers. Staying in Chicago can be expensive, but we have managed to secure discounted rooms at the Westin O’Hare Hotel starting at $129 per night (plus taxes & fees) Suites are also available for $179 per night (plus taxes & fees) Book your rooms by calling (800) 937-8461 or (847) 698-6000 and requesting the Steampunk Block when giving the dates of your reservation. If you are planning on vending at the Exposition, we have a separate block of rooms reserved for you. Upon acceptance to the show and settlement of vendor fees, details and instructions for booking a room in the Vendor Block will be emailed to you.
