Chicago Steampunk Exposition Extra Events
The next Exposition is scheduled for May 30th to June 1st, 2025, but as we countdown to Chicago’s premiere Steampunk convention we shall also be hosting a series of (mostly free) smaller events.
Steampunk Picnic for H.G. Wells’s Birthday
- WHEN? – Saturday, September 21st, 2024 (12:00pm to 5:00pm)
- WHERE? – Behind the Museum of Science and Industry (5700 S DuSable Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60637)
- HOW MUCH? – FREE!
- WHAT DO I NEED? – Just bring your own picnic and chairs.
Join us behind the Museum of Science & Industry (the only remaining hall from the 1893 Exposition) as we celebrate the 158th birthday of one of Steampunk’s founding fathers, HG Wells! This event is BYOP (bring your own picnic), but picnickers are encouraged to bring food that can be shared. We shall provide a long table, but it also BYOC (bring your own chair) to gather around the Mad Hatter style set up. Parking is very nearby: take Lake Shore Drive to Science Drive and swing to the left side (south) of the parking lot (it’s cheaper than the right side – north).
